Lot 2441

1913-S $10 Gold Indian. PCGS graded AU-58. Along with the 1911-S, the 1913-S is a tough and undervalued Indian Head eagle. Only 66,000 pieces were struck at San Francisco and mint state survivors are scarce to rare from MS60-MS63 and very rare any finer. This choice AU example has above average luster for the issue and grade. The surfaces are medium orange gold and abrasion free. The mintmark is substantially smaller than that found on the 1911-S of this sale. A great opportunity for someone seeking a choice 1913-S without paying the levels required for a truly uncirculated specimen (PCGS # 8874) .
Estimated Value $1,600 - 1,800.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.
