Lot 2368

1892-CC $10 Gold Liberty. PCGS graded AU-58. A brilliant, lustrous and frosty example of this conditionally scarce to rare Carson City eagle. Only 40,000 eagles were produced at Carson City this year and survivors are extremely rare in MS-63 and above. A gem example has never been graded by either PCGS or NGC. There is a scratch in the front of Liberty's face but other than that every aspect of this coin is of mint state quality. Identified by what appears to be a small lint mark just below the last S of STATES. PCGS has graded 16 in AU-58 with only 18 finer, the finest being 2 in MS-64. Housed in an old PCGS green label, fat letter holder (PCGS # 8722) .
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,200.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $2,760
