Lot 2155

1841-D $2.50 Gold Liberty. SEGS graded AU-58 Lite Cleaning. The 1841-D is an elusive Dahlonega Mint quarter eagle in all grades. Only 4,164 pieces were struck and most examples are seen in the VF grade. The present example has sharp AU detail with surfaces that have been uniformly cleaned. Obverse cleaning is heavier than that on the reverse. A small lint mark exists just in front of the chin in the field. A dull and old scratch in the reverse just to the right of the eagle's beak.
Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,500.

Realized $3,680
