Lot 1283

1883 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Semi-prooflike fields are watery and choice. Both obverse and reverse surfaces have a very light original transparent film on them. Liberty and the eagle are covered in mint frost and stand out in relief against the fields. Another low mintage issue with only 9,039 business strikes produced. A choice near-gem example such as this coin is a good buy as gems are decisively more rare and expensive. PCGS population of 19 in MS-64, 8 in MS-65 and 9 in MS-66 (PCGS # 6365) .
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,100.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $1,668
