1818 Capped Bust Half Dollar. 8 over 7. Small 8. . Overton-102a, Rarity-2. PCGS graded AU-55. Soft, lustrous surfaces with a champagne tint. Clear overdate with the first 8 in the date small. Light clashmarks exist under the eagle's left wing. A slightly better variety than the normal 1818/7 Small 8 with the upper loop of the second 8 filled almost entirely by a break. A choice and pleasing example of this low pop variety! PCGS has graded 15 in AU-55 with only 20 finer (PCGS # 6114) .
