Lot 1117

1877 Twenty Cents. PCGS graded Proof 63 Cameo PQ. The 1877 twenty cent piece is a proof-only issue with the lowest mintage of any proofs struck between 1875-1878, only 350 coins. Not surprisingly, the 1877 is the scarcest proof issue aside from the 1875-S branch mint proof. This coin is almost completely white with only some light areas of film on the surfaces. Minor hairlines are seen on the obverse and reverse. Deeply reflective fields contrast a frosty and spotless Liberty and eagle, supporting the cameo designation. PCGS has graded 10 in PR-63CAM, 12 in PR-64CAM, 5 in PR-65CAM and 2 in PR-66CAM (PCGS # 85305) .
Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,500.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.
