Lot 1056

1800 Draped Bust Half Dime. . LM-1, Rarity-3. NGC graded EF-40. Aged gray surfaces have a faint lavender tone to them. An old, thin scratch is noted on Liberty's forehead. All stars are weakly struck. Reverse detail is a tad sharper than the obverse. This die marriage, one of only four known for the 1800 half dime, is the most commonly encountered. While mint state examples exist, a nice and evenly worn EF example, such as the present coin, is a tough find. NGC population of 7 in EF-40.
Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,300.

Realized $3,680
