1879 Shield Nickel. 9 over 8. PCGS graded Proof 67 Cameo. The only overdate proof known from this series of nickels in a cameo gem condition that has never been surpassed by a single other example at PCGS. Frosty and lustrous surfaces are free from any interruptions. The horizontal and vertical lines of the shield are fully struck up and display no ticks. Identified by a lintmark just left of the date. Tied for Finest Known with 8 others in Cameo at PCGS (PCGS # 83834) .
