Hoover, Edgar J (1895-1972) Head of the FBI for 48 years. Four items: Autograph Letter Signed on FBI letterhead, Washington, Dec. 28, 1937, sending Season's Greetings; copy of Masters of Deceit (New York: Henry Holt & Co., 1957), Signed and Inscribed, "To Norman Armour With warm personal regards. J. Edgar Hoover. 3.20.58" on first end page; and A Study of Communism (New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, Inc., 1962), with a Typed Letter Signed ("Edgar") lightly affixed inside front cover, on FBI letterhead, Jan. 10, 1962, to Norman Armour praising the "dedicated men and women" of the FBI.
