Augustus, 27 BC-14 AD. Gold Aureus (7.84 g), Lugdunum mint, struck 8-7 BC. Scarce. Laureate head right. Reverse: Gaius Caesar on galloping horse right, holding arms, legionary eagle and standards behind; C. CAES., AVGVS. F. below. Small rim bump, and few light scattered marks on edge. The portrait of Augustus well above average for this type. Very Fine.
