The Hasmonaeans. John Hyrcanus II, 63-40 BC. . Hen-454. An excellent collector's lot of ten bronze prutot attributed to the following Mesh2 (Ancient Jewish Coins, Volume I, by Y. Meshorer) numbers: LA-18, MC-3, NA-2, NA-45, NC-1, PB-8, SB-9, SB-12, SC-8 and SC-19. This grouping shows well the different epigraphy, from clear, incisively cut Palaeo-Hebrew to cursive style, as well as blundered inscriptions. Lot of 10 coins. Condition averages Very Fine and the inscription within wreath sides are particularly distinct.
