Philisto-Arabian Coinage. Gaza, 4th century BC. AR Drachm (4.09 g). Athenian imitation. Head of Athena right, wearing Attic helmet, with crest and upright olive leaves. Reverse: Owl right, with olive spray behind; at right, AΘE, at left Θ. Hendin --; SNG ANS --; Mildenberg, Vestigia Leonis, p. XXIV, 13. Usual tight flan, but exceptionally well centered, bold strike with nearly full crest. Even matte texture to metal, with pleasing medium toning. Rare this nice! Extremely Fine.
