Imperatorial Rome. Sextus Pompey, d. 35 BC. AR Denarius minted 42-40 BC in Sicily. Bare head right of Pompey the Great, lituus before, capis behind. Reverse: Neptune, foot on prow and holding aplustre, standing left between the brothers Anapias and Amphinomus, each of whom carries a parent. Craw. 511/3a. Syd. 1344. Some light flan marks and weakness of strike which is normally seen on this important coin type. Bold portrait, Very Fine.
