AR Denar (3.18g) attributed to year 3 (AD 134/5). Inscription within wreath. Reverse: Upright palm branch. Mesh1 204. H-724. Mild 115 [23 examples cited]. Extremely Fine.

Whether of silver or bronze, all Bar Kokhba War coinage was minted over previously struck coins already in circulation. This specimen shows enough of the understiking to decipher that it was originally a Roman denarius minted AD 103-117 under the emperor Trajan.
Estimated Value $400 - 500.

Realized $449
