Lot 2564

1876-CC $10 Liberty. NGC graded AU-50. A very attractive example exhibiting a nice even strike, traces of mint luster in the protected areas about the peripheries and light golden-orange in color. Only 4,696 examples were struck this year and relatively few seem to have been exported, the result being most were probably melted. Today the population is very low as both major services attest to. When offered, the 1876-CC is usually found only in lower grades as Walter Breen comments, "Extremely rare above VF." Pop of 7 with 8 in AU-53, 2 in AU-55 and 2 in AU-58.
Estimated Value $13,000 - 14,000.
