1888 $3 Gold. NGC graded Proof 65. Glittering, orange-peel surfaces, overlaid with a blush of milky-yellow toning on the obverse. Although not "slabbed" as a Cameo, this one might benefit from a resubmission. The obverse appears to be lightly cameo, while the reverse features nice contrast. This is one of the nicest survivors out of an original mintage of only 291 Proofs. NGC reports 3 in Proof-65, 1 in Proof-66, and none finer. No identifying markers.
