Spanish American War Photographs. Two photo albums. One album is 7¼ x 11½ in. and is filled with 60 photographs of an army camp, c. 1898, probably in Florida and certainly in training for being shipped to Cuba to fight during the Spanish American War. Most of the photos are 2½ x 3¼ in. and show the men in various activities; a few show buildings, the ocean, a lighthouse, etc. Some silvering and toning, but a neat group. A second album, 12 x 10 in., contains some 60 turn-of-the-century photos, most of them 4 x 5 in., of various scenes in the West. They include four of a parade in San Francisco, honoring Dewey, as well as scenic photos of Colorado, Santa Barbara (California), Yellowstone National Park, etc. There are also twelve 6½ x 8½ in. color postcards of Yellowstone, and one envelope with a patriotic cachet of Dewey. A very interesting lot, with over 130 items. Good to Very Good.
