Twelve Newspaper Issues From 1802. Seven issues of the Columbian Centinel and five issues of the Aurora General Advertiser, one issue from May and the remainder from August, September, and October. One issue is marked for the office of the secretary of war (Henry Dearborn) and one issue for the office of the secretary of state (James Madison). Published during the presidential campaign, as Thomas Jefferson ran against incumbent President John Adams. Much anti-Jefferson content, reporting on the Thomas Jefferson/James Callender scandal, etc. Also, a report that Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin had determined that Timothy Pickering had not embezzeled from the government, and more. General toning, some soiling and edge tears. Overall condition about Good. (12 items).
