Hays, Will H (1879-1954) American lawyer and politician; president of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America; instituted the Production Code for motion pictures (1930). Photograph Signed, "Sincerely yours, Will H. Hays," in lower border, no place, no date, 6½ x 7¼ inches. The MPPDA became know as the Hays Office because of Hays' efforts on behalf of film censorship.
