Loos, Anita (1888-1981) Novelist and movie script writer; best known for writing Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. A collection of 21 items, including 13 Typed Letters Signed and one Autograph Letter Signed to English theatrical agent Gilbert Miller, and one Typed Letter Signed to Morton Gottlieb, all written between 1951-53, most from New York. The letters deal with the search for an actress to play the role of Gigi in the Broadway play (Audrey Hepburn's break-through role), and discusses the activities of numerous actors such as Bette Davis, Tallulah Bankhead, Ruth Gordon, Garson Kanin, and Katharine Hepburn, and playwright Thornton Wilder. Another letter to a Mrs. Hillings in Paris concerns photographs of Audrey Hepburn and Collette's (author of the novel Gigi ) delight at Miss Hepburn's playing the role of Gigi. There are also Two Autograph Signed by Cathleen Nesbitt, who played the role of Aunt Alicia in Gigi, approving the choice of Audrey Hepburn ("I do think your little 'Gigi' is enchanting…."), as well as a telegram, a copy of another telegram, and two copies of letters from Miller to Loos. Some notations and staple marks, else Fine. A delightful collection. (21 items).
