Nixon, Richard & Ford, Gerald. Color 8 x 10 in. Photograph Signed by Richard Nixon, Gerald R. Ford, and Betty Ford. Although undated, the photograph was taken August 9, 1974, as President Nixon left the White House for the last time during his administration. Gerald Ford had been administered the presidential oath of office at 12:05 p.m. in the East Room of the White House by Chief Justice Warren Burger. The Nixons and the Fords walk together down a red carpet to the presidential helicopter. A handful of these photos were signed at a later date. With a 7 x 5 in. unsigned color photo of a smiling President Nixon about to board the presidential helicopter for the last time, his arms stretched wide in the familiar victory gesture.
