Egypt. Ptolemaic Kings. Ptolemy II, 285-246 BC. Very rare. Gold Oktodrachm (27.7 g), in the name of Arsinoe II, Sidon mint, c. 250 BC. Veiled head of Arsinoe II right, wearing stephane, ram's horn at ear, lotus-tipped scepter over shoulder. Reverse: Filleted double cornucopiae; name and title around, date in field. Svoronos 747. A few ancient edge nocks, some light scratches and rubbing to reverse. Still, impressive and very lustrous. Extremely Fine.
