Lucania. Metapontum, c. 510-490 BC. AR Nomos (8.0 g). Ear of barley with nine grains; ethnic at right. Reverse: Incuse of obverse. SNG ANS 213; SNG Cop. 1161; BMC p. 238, 9. Well struck up and centered, on choice metal. Fine old collection toning. A very nice problem free example of this type -- in the collector grade typical of 60 to 90 years ago. Recommended. Very Fine.
