Calabria. Tarentum, c. 272-235 BC. AR Nomos (6.4 g). Nude youth on horseback left, holding wreath over horse's head; to right, ΔI, ΦIΛOTAΣ below. Reverse: Taras on dolphin left, holding kantharos and distaff, cock to right; ethnic below. SNG Cop. 918; Vlasto 848. Nicely centered and struck up on smallish flan. With attractive, slightly iridescent toning. Very Fine.
