Gordian III, 238-244 AD. Gold Aureus (5.47 g), Rome, struck 241-243 AD. Laureate, cuirassed, and draped bust right. Reverse: Hercules, nude, leaning right, resting arm on club set on rock; VERTVTI AVGVSTI. RIC 108; C. 401. Well struck and centered, on spacious flan. Very lustrous. Excellent style, front and back. Superb Extremely Fine.
