Lot 1494
1838-O Liberty Seated Half Dime. No stars. NGC graded MS-63. Toned in a delightful blend of silver-gray and rose-gold speckles. This was probably one of the last coins struck from the dies, which by now have lots of extra flow lines and microscopic rust pitting. One of the finest examples known of the date -- NGC reports 2 at this level and only 4 finer (all MS-64).
