Lot 1233

Columbian World's Fair, Chicago, 1892-1893. Two Porcelain Dishes. One medium size, the other smaller, and each of hexagonal form, with scalloped edges enriched with gold filigree. Center on larger has transfer print of the Machinery Hall, the other of the Government Building. Both German-made, with blue marks of S over crossed sabers, suggestive of Meissen ware. Both intact and perfect, but for some wear to the gold edging. Widths: 5-7/8"; 3-7/8". Note, Rossen & Kaduck, p. 104, no. 2.
