Columbian World's Fair, Chicago, 1892-1893. Group of Eight Mostly Promotional Medals from the Fair. Five in aluminum, with three in bronze or brass, and generally of dollar size. Different is that with frontal face of Queen Isabella, and view of the Women's Building on the reverse (women's recognition and rights rising?). Two from Michigan's exhibits, including the famous "World Champion Load of Logs," showing a pair of drays pulling a dray filled with a pyramid of logs. Two brasses from the U.S Mint exhibit. Another brass showing the Electrical Building, and an aluminum with aerial view of the fair grounds. Last, and best, a political token for the Democratic presidential nominee for 1892 -- Grover Cleveland, along with Illinois' Adlai Stevenson (father of the future presidential candidate of the same name). The other side of the token has a globe with scene of Columbus claiming land for Spain. Two pieces are holed. Condition ranges from Very Fine to Brilliantly Uncirculated. Lot of 8 pieces.
