Columbian World's Fair, Chicago, 1892-1893. A Plethora of Printed Items. A variety of printed items, the most important being: a Portfolio of Photographs of the World's Fair Art Series, Series Nos. 1-16; oversized (11" x 13-1/2"). Overall clean, in fine condition, with gray wrap covers, some of which have detached. Also, a steel engraving: "Dawn Revealing the New World to Columbus," with minor edge soiling and light foxing. Also, a spectacular color chromolitho of an aerial view of the Fair; open size: 7-1/2" x 19-3/4", hinged center (edge loss to one side, minor chips and tears). A similar, colorful fold-out calender for 1892(?), framed, with child-like characters representing different countries in their national costume. Lastly, 2 woven silk ribbons for Columbus Day, 1892, a public school celebration. Both with same image of Columbus and similar added (contemporary) gold braid and fringe.
