Franklin Half Dollar. 1959 half dollar struck on a foreign planchet. MS-63. This is apparently struck on a foreign planchet as it weighs a bit more than a quarter should at 6.37 grams. Frosty luster and with very choice surfaces throughout. The date and mintmark area are strong, and all but the extreme peripheral lettering is present. A rare Franklin half dollar error, very few of which have been found. No reeding on the edge, and the foreign planchet appears to be silver.
