Lot 2154

$20 Liberty. 1874-CC. PCGS graded AU-53. Some luster and really decent surfaces for the grade, which don't show the usual barrage of handling marks, just light ticks and lines from circulation. Sharply struck and well balanced for the grade assigned. There are a couple of circulation marks on Liberty's face, but they are small. It is interesting to note that this coin brought a substantial premium for the date and mintmark back in the 1940s when it was last sold (PCGS # 8971) .
Estimated Value $1,400 - 1,700.
From the Benson collection and purchased from Ira S. Reed on January 20, 1945 for $70.00.

Realized $2,013
