Lot 2148

$20 Liberty. 1857-S. PCGS graded MS-64 S. S. Central America. As bright and fresh as the day it was struck, this Type I Twenty is totally alive with luster and is also well struck. The fields show just a couple of minor ticks which must have barely kept this one from a higher grade. Hints of coppery toning on both sides near the devices. Identifiable by a vertical nick on the right point of the ninth star on the obverse. Die 20A with the Spiked Shield.
Estimated Value $5,500 - 6,500.

Realized $7,015
