Phoenicia. Tyre, after 126 BC. AR Half Shekel-Didrachm (7.17 g), struck 80/79 BC. Pleasing, and less common. Laureate, skin-clad bust of Melkaart right. Reverse: Eagle standing left on prow, palm branch at shoulder, club and date in fields (Year 47); Δ at right. BMC p. 251, 226. Boldly struck, but devices off-center. Residual luster. Very Fine.
