Lot 2788

1935. A. Hawaii overprint. Brown seal, F-2300. . Fr-2300. Choice CU. A very nice example of this popular note, these were issued soon after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, as the United States believed that if Hawaii was invaded, counterfeiting of the existing notes was expected, and the overprint "HAWAII" would make these quite distinctive, and keep them from circulating on the mainland. Nice margins.
Estimated Value $70 - 100.

Realized $104
