1841 Braided Hair Half Cent. NGC graded Proof 65 Red and Brown. This is the large berries reverse, and a later die state, Breen III with a light die crack through the third through the rim above the seventh star. Faded mint red in color and we note a scattering of minor spots on both sides. Identifiable by a small nick in the field near the nose tip. Rare and seldom offered, these early proof coins tend to be put away in collections for very long periods. NGC has only graded 2 this high, with none higher in any color category, and no red ones equal to this. An important offering as such, as this may be well up in the Condition census for the variety.
