Lot 33

1796 Liberty Cap Half Cent. With pole. . C-2. Del Bland graded VG-7. Slightly sharper but on the lower obverse a large area of fine corrosion is visible, below the cap is a long scratch that blends well into the patina, at the end of the cap is an edge dent, another is on the edge below the right ribbon end and elsewhere on the reverse are a few very small ones. Darkish steel brown and fairly well struck, the only weak areas being LI, part of HALF CENT, and UNI. This is a very acceptable example of a much sought after variety and is more appealing than the description might indicate.
Estimated Value $7,000 - 8,500.
