Lot 648

1926-S Liberty Standing Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66 Full Head. This is one of the finest graded 1926-S quarters in existence. PCGS has graded 8 this high, with none graded higher in Full Head. There are none graded higher without the full head either. Flashy mint luster on both sides and just a couple of tick marks worth noting, as this is such an important coin. First, there is a small stain on the top left star on the obverse, a tiny tick mark right of her belly button, and on the reverse there is a carefully hidden mark on the right wing of the eagle, right in the middle of it. Simply put, this coin is nearly perfect, the strike is bold on Liberty's head, with details on each of the 3 leaves in her crown, and the shield has a touch of weakness as always seen. An impossible date to locate in high grade, this stellar example belongs in the finest quarter set in the land. Study it carefully and see if it's the coin for your collection.
Estimated Value $22,000 - 27,000.

Realized $25,300
