Lot 467

1837 Liberty Seated Half Dime. No stars, small date. PCGS graded MS-66. This is the flat topped 1 in the date and is much rarer than the normal peaked 1 large date variety. It is important to note that this coin is in an old green insert PCGS holder, which dates back to the time before the small date variety was noted on the holder. As such, only a single coin has been graded this high besides the present example of the small date variety! PCGS has graded 20 in all of both varieties as MS-66, but there are none graded higher. Gorgeous mint luster throughout, and lightly toned with gold hues.
Estimated Value $3,700 - 4,200.

Realized $4,830
