Valentinian II, 375-392 AD. Gold Solidus (4.4 g), Constantinople mint, struck c. 375-379 AD. Scarce. Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valentinian right. Reverse: Constantinople seated facing on throne with lion supports, holding spear and globe, foot resting on prow. RIC 45a(3). Perfectly centered on spacious flan. Some residual luster. Nice Very Fine.
