Judea Capta. Vespasian & Titus. Lot of Two AE Sestertii, Rome mint, struck 71-81 AD. . Hen-792. Both rare types, and affordable examples of these historic pieces. Laureate head of Vespasian right. Reverse: Captive Jew stands right, hands bound, before palm tree, looking to seated Jewess right, arms in field; IVDAEA CAPTA, SC in exergue. RIC 424. Other coin: Laureate head of Titus right. Reverse: Flanking palm tree, dejected Jewess left; at right, Jew stands right, head left regardant, hands tied behind back; trophy of arms to right; IVD CAP, SC in exergue. RIC 91; Hendin 792. Lot of 2 coins. Both coins with dark brown patinas and orichalcum highlights. The coin of Titus interred with silver -- partial patina of silver oxide(?). First About Fine; second Very Good / Good.
