The Jewish War, 66-70 AD. AR Half Shekel (6.2 g), Year 1, struck 66/ 67 AD. . Hen-656. Rare. Omer cup with smooth rim but pearl on either side, base with pearled ends; Hebrew inscription around, date above cup. Reverse: Stem with pearled base and three pomegranates; Hebrew inscription around ("Jerusalem the Holy"). Hendin 656; AJC II, p. 259, 6. Well centered, with good strike. Metal decent. With light, artistic toning. Choice example. Extremely Fine.
