The Jewish War, 66-70 AD. AR Shekel (14.2 g), Year 1, struck 66/ 67 AD. . Hen-655. Choice and scarce. Omer cup with smooth rim but pearl on either side, base with pearled ends; Hebrew inscription around, date above cup. Reverse: Stem with pearled base and three pomegranates; Hebrew inscription around ("Jerusalem the Holy"). Hendin 655; AJC II, p. 259, 2. Well centered on tight module. Bold strike, on good metal. With light, artistic toning. A lovely example. Extremely Fine.
