Syria. Lot of Three Coins, Seleucid and Roman. Nice dealer lot. Included are one silver and two bronzes. Alexander Balas, 150-145 BC., AR Drachm: Diademed head right / Apollo seated left; cf. SNG Cop. 255. Also, an AE 25 mm. of Antiochus IV, 175-164 BC. struck in Egypt: Diademed bust of Isis right / Eagle right, on thunderbolt; BMC Syria, p. 38, 45. Last, an AE 29 mm. of Philips I & II: Confronted draped, cuirassed, and radiate and laureate busts / Veiled head of tyche right; SNG Cop. 273. Drachm attractively toned. Antiochus AE, with red and green patina, of good style. Philip, dark gray-green, with earthen highlights. Lot of 3 coins. Silver Choice Very Fine; Antiochus, nice Very Fine; Philip, near Very Fine.
