A fabulous U.S. Commemorative Medallion Type Set struck in .999 Fine Silver. This set of replicas of the 50 most popular commemorative type coins was struck by The Highland Mint. Each coin is a frosted proof, with the word "COPY" applied somewhere on the reverse. There were struck in .999 fine silver and mounted in a custom blue album. Mintage of these replicas was limited to 5000 sets, and this is set number 2015.
Frankly, the quality of these replicas is outstanding. They are true to the original designs and have finely engraved details. One might think they were regular mint issues but for the fact that they are so wonderfully frosted on the devices and obviously proof fields surrounding.
As stated by Anthony Swiatek, purchasing a gem set of these (MS-65 or better) would cost in excess of $85,000, putting these out of the reach of most collectors. This is a pleasant alternative, with the designs carefully reproduced and finely engraved. Most show a touch of toning around the periphery from the album. These sets were sold a few years ago at a cost of $2,000 and they are truly a bargain at that price. Lot of 50 coins, and perfect for ebay.
