Lot 158

1824/2 Braided Hair Cent. . N-1. PCGS graded AU-55. An outstanding coin for the grade, the color ranges from light brown to medium brown, somewhat mottled but quite appealing overall. Fully struck on the curls of Liberty, and some of the stars show radial lines, though not all. The overdate feature is bold and the coin will certainly enhance even the most advanced collection. PCGS has graded 3 this high, with 4 graded above in AU-58, and a single coin as MS-61 above. Don't expect to find a better one! The reverse is quite nice too, with problem free wear and no distracting marks. Later die state with an encircling crack through the reverse legend.
Estimated Value $1,250 - 1,750.

Realized $2,645
