1798 $5 Capped Bust. Large eagle, large 8, 13 star reverse. . M-31. EF-45. This is a later die state, which is very rare, note the reverse die crack between S and OF and another extending down to the eagle's head. The star cross pattern in the stars over the eagle's head is very unusual, and makes for quick identification. Probably cleaned long ago as the fields are too reflective. Red and copper toning around the date, and well struck by the dies.
