Gold dollar proof orders were high in 1883, up from prior years to a total of 207 coins. Of these, only 5 have been graded as PR-65 by PCGS, with 10 graded higher. That puts this coin in the top ten percent of those coined, and one of the prettiest frosted proofs you're likely to find.
