Trotsky, Leon (1879-1940) He organized the 1917 November Revolution with Lenin, served as secretary of foreign affairs and war, and created the Red Army. Exiled by Stalin to Mexico, he was murdered by Stalin's agent. Important Typed letter signed with autograph closing, "Warm wishes," in French, 1p, 11x8½ in., Coyoacán, D.F. (Mexico), 14 Jan. 1939. To Gérard Rosenthal, Trotsky's lawyer and agent in Paris, with a copy to (Alfred) Rosmer regarding the disposition of the letters of Léon Sedov, Trotsky's son who died in 1938 after an appendectomy. Trotsky is determined to keep Léon's affairs out of the hands of Léon's first wife. "I cannot tolerate any control from Jeanne Molinier over things that do not concern her. I refuse to grant the least trust in her…" He writes, : "I am giving to my friend Jim Cannon [chairman of the American Communist Party] full power to take Sieve [Trotsky's grandson from his eldest dauther who committed suicide in 1933] to America…." Much more interesting content. Fine. With English translation.
