Great Britain. Kings of All England. AR Penny, ND (London, struck c. 997-1003). North-774; S-1151. 1.69 grams. Æthelred II, 978-1016 AD. Long Cross type. Bare-headed, draped bust left; + ·ÆÐELRÆD REX ANGLOX around. Reverse: Long voided cross with pellet center, trefoil ends; + LEO FPIN EM·O LVND spaced around arms. Choice in all respects with a crisp strike on excellent metal, full flan, and a stylish portrait. Artistic, medium gray toning. NGC graded MS-63.
