Great Britain. Viking Coinage. AR Memorial Penny, ND (Danish East Anglia). North-483 var.; S-961. 1.38 grams. St Eadmund, c. 895-910 AD. Central circle, large "A" within; + SC EAIDI (blundered) around. Reverse: Central circle with cross pattee within; + PRINCIPI MS around. Pleasing bold legends, on full flan with superb metal. Considerable mint luster evident. Medium gray toning reflecting wonderful bursts of soft steel blues and greens, with pinks, russets and gold. A gem, scarce in this grade. NGC graded MS-62.
